"A beautiful and delicate slice of jazz soul – perfect for listening to by candlelight on melancholy lockdown nights." BBC Introducing's David Gilyeat
Raised by punk music loving parents in Oxfordshire. After training in ballet, Bronwyn changes from dance to a music career from encouragement after singing to friends.
Performing Upstairs at Ronnie Scotts Jazz Club, Cheltenham Jazz Festival, Glastonbury Festival 2019, The Royal Albert Hall with the BBC Singers, Bristol Sofar Sounds. Bronwyn is recording her first EP and is active on Youtube.
Bronwyn Leonard’s latest single ‘Under Her Skin’ starts with a calming acoustic guitar intro. It's melancholy and lyrically dark; a peek into a heart to heart conversation between two friends, over a broken heart. Relaxing and soulful with warm brass, soft bass and a kick drum that beats along to all the brokenhearted people.
Main influences being Aretha Franklin, Amy Winehouse, Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Buckley and Ella Fitzgerald inspire Bronwyn to write fiercely emotional, heartfelt melodies.
